TIGERTECH ROBOTICS

TIGER TECH Robotics Team 5624, located at South Plainfield High School in South Plainfield, New Jersey, was established in September 2014, with the help of school administrators and students. Their goal was to bring a program to the high school that would increase the amount of STEM-related opportunities for students.

 

The team, originally recognized as a club, consisted of 15 students, 2 advisors, and 2 mentors in its rookie year. It was granted a space in the school’s electrical technology/graphics classroom, adjacent to the woodshop and metal shop classrooms, to work in.  Today, the team consists of over 60 students, 1 mentor, 1 returning alumni, and 2 advisors. It has earned its status as a team and is highly regarded in the school’s competitive sports program.
